Sooke Job Fair returns March 22

Grab your cover letters and resumes, the second annual Sooke Job Fair is coming on March 22.

The fair is hosted by WorkLink B.C. at the Sooke Community Hall from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Last year, the event had 12 employers presenting offerings. Seventy-two people attended the event.

This year, there will be more employees, with the hope more curious residents will show up to look for new job opportunities, said Barb McLean, community coordinator for the WorkLink Employment Society.

“We are proud to serve the Sooke area and believe we successfully assist people in creating positive solutions to their employment needs,” she said. “We encourage Sooke residents to come down and check out what’s available.”

Key Sooke employers such as Sooke Harbour House, Prestige Hotel, SEAPARC Leisure Complex, Carpenter’s Union Local 1598, RLC Park Services, Miles of Smiles Childcare Centre, The Renfrew Pub, Alpine Group, YMCA Camp Thunderbird, Seaflora Skincare and Mammoth Landscaping and Masonry Ltd. will be featured at the job fair.

WorkLink has been a job search centre offering free (funded through the provincial and federal governments) employment services to Sooke residents since 2008.
