Mayor Maja Tait, Sooke council, and the heads of all civic departments will host the second annual Talktober event next Wednesday (Oct. 25)

It’s an opportunity for area residents to meet and engage the people who formulate policy and deliver services within the community and offer their input into how they think things should be done.

“We’re ready to talk about anything we’re doing, including the five-year financial plan, sewer system upgrades, park development, roadway repair, even how to apply for a development permit. It’s a one-stop opportunity to offer input and get answers,” said Tait.

While there will be no child-minding services in place, residents are welcome to bring their children along. A child-friendly area with some activities will be operating, complete with a coloring contest for the kids.

Talktober is held at Sooke Community Hall, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
