National Poetry Month in April coincides with the release of a new chapbook by nine members of the Sooke Writers’ Collective.
The book, Circle Route – Explorations and Journeys, draws inspiration from the Pacific Marine Circle Route and features a mix of poems that capture the essence of coastal life and personal introspection.
This is the fourth collaborative chapbook from the group and includes work from Jim Bottomley, Deb Clay (who writes as dl clay and serves as the SWC coordinator), Tatjana Darling, Kathryn Guthrie, Lynda Moore, David Reichheld, Madelaine Roig, Lorraine Sinclair, and C.E.M. (Clare) Winstanley.
The chapbook launch is set for April 21, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sooke library.
The event includes short readings, and attendees will have a chance to meet the authors and other group members. Copies of Circle Route will be available for $14 each.
