Police Beat
Even though 106 calls for service had been received by the Sooke RCMP detachment between February 3 and 10, police stated there was nothing of a reportable nature among them.
“We have had no break ins, no motor vehicle accidents to report,” related Staff Sergeant Stephen Wright via email on February 10. “We have not executed any more search warrants. There have been no further reports to break ins to mail boxes either.”
The only update was to confirm that Ground Search and Rescue, a police dog along with the Coast Guard Auxiliary was to be out at China Beach again on February 12 conducting one final search of the area for a 44-year-old male who had been reported missing on January 6.
