Burping, hissing and gurgling sounds could soon be coming to a toilet near you.

The District of Sooke is conducting sanitary sewer flushing today, Monday and Tuesday.

“Residents adjacent to these locations may experience noise coming from their plumbing pipes (toilets) including burping, hissing and gurgling which is a result of the movement of air in the pipes caused by the flushing. This is normal consequence of flushing and is required to maintain the integrity of the sewer system, says the district in a statement.

Flushing is occurring at the following locations:

• West Coast Road between Townsend Road and Gatewood Road

• 2200 Block of Maple Avenue North

• Stone Creek Place

• Mountain Heights Drive between Stonewater Lane and Valleyview Place

• Bentley Place

• Arranwood Drive

• Caffery Parkway

• Felderhof Road

• Maple Avenue South
