Hells Angels arrive in Langford

Well over 100 members of the notorious motorcycle club arrived in Langford from Nanaimo on Saturday afternoon

Well over 100 Hells Angels were greeted by a sizeable ground and air police presence, as well as dozens of onlookers, as they roared into the Devils Army Clubhouse on Spencer Road in Langford on Saturday afternoon.

Full-patch members and prospects from the Nanaimo chapter of the notorious motorcycle club arrived around 2:30 p.m. with several police cars, at least one helicopter, and a crowd of curious residents looking on.

Quebec and Ontario Hells Angels members were also present, as well as riders from other clubs.

Police monitored the group closely as they pulled up to the clubhouse and gathered in the front courtyard of the building.

A group of non-riding members also arrived via stretch limousine.

The ride over the Malahat was in memory of Michael Gregory Widner, whose body was found earlier this month on the Pacific Marine route near Port Renfrew.

Widner is believed to have been a club prospect.

The 39-year-old Sooke resident’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
