Don’t expect a medical marijuana dispensary to open in your neighbourhood soon.
District of Sooke council approved a moratorium on business licences for marijuana-related dispensaries, effective immediately.
The decision was made in a closed-door meeting on Nov. 14.
Sooke has three pot dispensaries operating in the municipality.
The federal Liberals are expected to legalize marijuana next spring.
