RCMP along with members of the Integrated Road Safety Unit are taking direct aim at bad driving in Sooke.

In the last month, numerous violation tickets for speeding on Grant Road have been written up by police officers. And more enforcement is on the way for Grant, Otter Point, Sooke and Westcoast roads.

Traffic enforcement in Sooke is done in consideration of accident statistics, analysis of risk, and public input, said Sooke RCMP Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur.

Police remind motorists the speed limit on Grant Road is 40 km/h. Otter PointRoad from Wadams Way to Sooke Road is 30 km/h.

“The intersection of Grant and Otter Point roads is partially blind and is considered to be in need of enforcement action,” McArthur said.
