Police investigating head-on collision involving logging truck

A serious collision between a car (right) and a logging truck has caused a lengthy closure on Sooke Road near the Luxton Fairgrounds.

Sooke Road was closed for several hours Tuesday night following a serious collision between a car and a logging truck.

The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. in the 2800 block of Sooke Road, near the Luxton fairgrounds.

The driver of the logging truck was not injured, however, the three occupants of the vehicle, including a young child, were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. They were in stable condition as of Wednesday morning.

The cause of the collision is unknown and remains under investigation.
