Those driving in and out of Sooke on Tuesday morning had a tough time going anywhere due to numerous power lines being knocked out by trees falling over along Sooke Road due to high winds and heavy rain.
Sooke Road became completely closed near Kangaroo Road due to downed power lines, according to Sooke Fire Chief Steven Sorensen, as well as several other reports from drivers passing through the affected area.
Drivers are encouraged to use Kangaroo Road as detour and drive with extreme caution.
Reports of power going out around town have also been coming in.
