On an ancient mountain

in the great, western forests of British Columbia,

there once stood a man as solid as the granite under his boots.

With cold rain on his face,

he sniffed the hemlock and tossed bread to the whiskey jacks.

Today, his boots are empty.

Dad had walked in those boots clearly choosing each and every step.

He would often put a skip in his step to put smiles on our faces.

He had love in his heart and power to do the right thing.

His integrity and contribution left a trail of respect.

He was dear to many and he will be missed.

Our love for him will last as long as the mountain he once stood upon.
