Peacefully passed away January 10, 2009 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, February 14, 1923 to Elizabeth Stevenson Mack and Robert Wallace Robertson. Cathie is survived by Douglas, her loving husband and best friend of 66 years. Cathie met Douglas in Glasgow when his Merchant Navy ship the “Empire Tourist” was in for repairs. She will be dearly missed by daughters, Margaret (Terry) Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Elizabeth (Joe) Sidney, B.C.; and son Brian (Laurie) Sooke, B.C.; also grandchildren Carolyn, Kim, Cheryl, Kelly, Jeff, Nicole and Jason; great-grandchildren Cory, Christopher, Stephanie, Katey, Samantha, Harley, Kyle, Marissa, Patrick, Ashley, Matt and Rory. Cathie and Doug immigrated to Canada in 1953, firstly, to Toronto, then Vancouver and finally to Sooke, B.C. in 1967. Cathie worked at Stan Jones store, was a driver for Contact, a quilter, a member of the Sooke Community Assoc., and helped to start the Langford Loan Cupboard for handicapped equipment.
