Born October 1, 1916 in Sooke b.C. Passed away February 17, 2008 in Duncan, B.C. Daidy was a descendant of the early pioneering Poirier family of Sooke. He worked mainly in the forest industry in many parts of B.C. and was an avid outdoorsman. he enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved to explore the woods and beaches wherever he lived. In Daidy's retirement years he was content to observe, identify and study the habits of the wildlife that visited his yard and to visit beaches with his beloved dog, Cody. Predeceased by his wife, Claire in August 2007, brothers, Mandus, Eric and Paul; sisters Sarah, Lilly, Aggie and Christy. He is survived by brother Mick and sister Marie Hay of Sooke. To the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cowichan District Hospital who made our Dad's last two weeks as comfortable as possible, we send our heartful thanks.
