HERTZBERG, Ian
Charles Ian Halfdan Hertzberg, born Victoria, August 29, 1952, died peacefully at home, October 21, 2010.
After surviving Woodlands School, New Westminster in the 60's, Ian lived at Glendale Lodge until moving to Helgesen Home in Sooke, 17 years ago. Predeceased by his parents John Hertzberg and Deborah (nee Harrison), he leaves Ron and Brenda and his large,
devoted Helgesen Home family; sister Anne Christensen, Victoria; brother Peter (Susan M’Gonigle) and their
children Maggie, Adrian and Hillary in Nanaimo.
Ian was mischievous, sensitive and charming. He loved music and
motion, and eating anything chocolate or red. In his youth, he excelled at rearranging furniture and clearing shelves. He loved people and in return was well loved. There will be an informal drop-in gathering of his friends and family at Helgesen Home,
6735 Helgesen Rd., Sooke, Sunday,
November 7th, 1-4pm.
