Joan Lacroix (Baba), at age 82, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2016. Joan was born in Weiden Manitoba and married the love of her life, Norbert, in Manitoba and at the time of her passing they had been together in marriage for over 64 years. Shortly after their wedding they moved to Richmond B.C. with their young son Allen and completed their immediate family with the birth of their second son Brian. In 1990, Joan, Norbert and Brian moved to Sooke B.C. Joan was one of thirteen children which led to a very large extended family. Joan was the type of person who would always be there to help others and asked nothing for herself in return. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, celebrating her heritage with good food, music, dancing and lots of laughing and crying. She will never be forgotten and always loved. Joan is survived by her husband Norbert and their two sons Allen (Jill) and Brian, grandchildren, Chris (Karen), Danielle (Jordan), Derek (Pam), Brianna (Jason), Christie (James), Christopher, Lisa, Taylor and great grandchildren Ella, Nora, Gavin, Luc and Emily.
A private celebration of life will be held by her family.
