Laurie Harris Wall

September 18, 2016

December 18, 1929 - September 18, 2016

Laurie passed away September 18, 2016. Predeceased by his son Dana, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife Ethel Anna, sons Theodore, Gregory, and Stephan. Survived by many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Laurie was born in Moncton, NB where he worked as an Air Traffic controller until his retirement in 1984. After retiring Laurie and Ethel hit the road and travelled around Canada and the USA before settling in Otter Point in 1985. From there they finally settled in Sooke. Laurie was active in the local Canadian Legion and served on the local fire department board. Laurie will always be remembered for his infectious grin and sharp sense of humor. All things aviation, history and science were his passions and he spent many hours reading and following developments in these areas. Laurie and Ethel were married in 1951 and would have celebrated 65 years together this November. The help and support of the many family friends during this trying time was so appreciated by the entire family and we send you all our thanks. The family wish to send their heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Ayer Manor for all their care and kindness they showed Laurie. At Laurie’s request no service will be held, but a small family gathering was held on September 29 in his remembrance. When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me, I want no tears or gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not too long, And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love we always shared, Miss me but let me go!
