Louise Bertram Heywood (nee Simon)

July 18, 1913- August 8, 2016

Having celebrated her 103rd birthday in fine form at Ayre Manor among her family and friends, Mum felt fulfilled and content.

So in the wee hours of August 8th, Louise slipped peacefully away with her daughter by her side. She leaves to miss her presence, sister Ida Foster, her daughter Patty Phillips, son Bill Lisney, grandchildren Jeff Williams(Pam), Sean Williams, Lisa Arden Gordanier(Bob), Steven Heywood(Deb) and Michael Heywood (Brenda). Louise had ten great grand children, many nieces and nephews and several members of our blended families from far and wide as well as her oldest and dearest friend, Dora McTavish, to remember her. She was predeceased by four sisters, Sheila, Dolly, Irene and Diddy, her only brother Reg, husband Vern and son Vernon. Louise had been an active community member through the Sooke Legion Auxiliary, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Shirley Women’s Institute. The past three years in Ayre Manor enriched Mum’s life with new friends and fabulous care staff. Our deepest gratitude to the staff for their loving, compassionate care of Louise and all her family. Please join us on October 9th from 2 pm to 5 pm in the Sooke Legion Lounge on Eustace Road to celebrate a life truly well-lived.
