Marie Therese “Terri” MUIR (nee DUBE)

It is with great sadness that our family announces the loss of our beloved Terri on January 6th, 2017 following her battle with cancer. One of ten children Terri was born in Legal, Alberta, where she and her siblings lived life on the family farm. For the past 43 years Terri lived in Sooke, BC. In the early years she and her husband, Bob MUIR, were the caretakers of Camp Barnard, the Boy Scout camp in Sooke.

Once retired Terri continued to live in the Sooke area where she became a known artist in the world of Egg Artistry. Working primarily with ostrich and emu eggs, Terri learned to create sculpted, carved, jewelled, diorama, filigree and decopage style eggs. She successfully perfected her skills to earn the title as ‘Master of Egg Artistry’ with the International Egg Art Guild. Terri remains one of only ten people internationally to achieve this honour. Her ability and passion to teach the art form allowed her to travel to numerous areas in North America and meet some very dear friends.

Terri was also passionately involved with the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Sooke where she served as a member of the choir and a member of the Mother’s Union. Terri had a special gift of making friends wherever she went and with all groups she involved herself. She has touched numerous hearts over the years and around the globe. She will be dearly missed.

Terri was predeceased by her husband Bob Muir. She leaves behind her son Bob (Sandy) Vanderford, her grandson’s Chris (Laura) Vanderford, Jason Vanderford, her brother Andy (Lorraine) Dube as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held Friday January 13th at 1pm at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 1962 Murray Rd, Sooke BC. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Victoria Hospice Society.
