It is with heavy hearts and great sadness to announce the passing of Martin Dean Szaloky, born February 17, 1969 in Victoria BC., passed January 16, 2017 in Sooke BC., surrounded by his loving family. Survived by his mother Jackalen, sisters: Maria Medwedrich (Carl), Kathy Gudmundson (Shawn), Yvette Anderson (Dale), nephews: Carl (Kris), Clinten (Nicky) Cameron (Lindsey), James (Donna), also Michael, Bo and Brett (Hideko), and niece Chelsey (Dave). Marty was a fantastic “Grunkel” to Aryonna, Teonna, Kaleb, Madison, Savannah, Kaitlyn, James Jr., Jalya, Shannah and Shawn. He also leaves many, many dear friends. A special thanks to Dr. Rabien, Forsberg, Hospice and his nurse Amber who all showed true compassion. Flowers declined, donations to the The Sooke Minor Ball Assoc. would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 28, 2017 at 1pm at the Sooke Royal Canadian Legion.
