Omer left us peacefully, in his sleep, after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis and complications arising thereof.
Born in Belgium, Omer came to Canada in 1959 with his wife Paula and 3 children. Omer and Paula eventually settled in Sooke in 1993 and made many friends. Omer loved to entertain others with his harmonica. He leaves behind Paula, wife of nearly 60 years, four children, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Sooke to be followed by a reception at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
