Dad passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side. A long time Sooke resident, Dad was a Volunteer firefighter/ambulance attendent and was a Charter member of the Sooke Lions Club. He was co-owner of the Sooke Shop Easy and then he went on to work at the Sooke/Lamford Forest Products.

He enjoyed his retirement in his garden cultivating beautiful flowers and a greenhouse full of tomatoes for his family and friends to enjoy. He also cared for our mother Hazel who predeceased him in May 2003.

Dad’s last wish was to be with his Mother and our Mother on Mothers day, Dad got his wish.

He leaves his children Larry, Pat (Harry), Cathy (Barry), Debby (Ted), Rick (Sue) & Bill (Jolene). 11 Grandchildren, 10 (soon to be 12) Great grandchildren. 3 brothers, 1 sister and their families, and Mom’s 1 brother and 3 sisters.

He also leaves his long time good friend George Diamond and the A&W coffee crew.

Gracious and Thankful to the end, he would want us to thank Dr. Tom Vally for all his care and support, the home care nurses, especially Michelle, the loan cupboard and Sooke Hospice.

No service by request and please no flowers. Those wishing to may make a donation to Sooke Hospice in his memory.
