LETTER: Sooke River Road is not a race track

It would seem that there are those in the community who think Sooke River Road is some kind of race track.

I was out walking my dog today just south of Charters Creek and within not much more than a 10-minute stretch, at least eight cars went by me, heading towards the potholes, and all of them were doing at least 80 km/h, if not much faster.

You drivers are ignorant who no doubt don’t give a damn about the abundant wildlife that lives in this area and is often found to be crossing the road. Not to mention those of us who live on Sooke River Road and like to take our pups for a hike up to the mailbox. Grow up and slow down before you end up running into somebody or something! RCMP – where are you?
