LETTERS: Council needs to push for four-lane highway

I was talking to Langford Mayor Stew Young at a car show last weekend about the four-lane highway to Sooke.

He says it’s time the District of Sooke put pressure on the province to finish the four-lanes over the hill and come out at Sasseenos. I know I have seen the plans when I worked at the Ministry of Highways in Langford in the 1980s, and I know of other people in Sooke that also know about the four lanes. Its been over 30 years.

Every time we have an accident on Highway 14, we’re in a lineup for hours. Emergency vehicles can’t get by or people with medical appointments.

So, Sooke get with it. Now we have the NDP we might get something done. Push comes to shove.
