Smell the burn?

Apparently, Victoria residents can smell the fires burning in the hinterlands as far west as Port Renfrew. They are told that they are seasonal fires that forest companies commonly use to rid debris from their land.

It’s a burn job alright considering the government wants to increase the carbon tax after a record-setting wildfire season that must have emitted record-setting amounts of carbon.

The forest companies haven’t figured out what to do with hundreds of tons of biomass in decades. Chips, pellets or firewood?

For some reason, almost every road on public and private lands are gated preventing people from getting firewood, sightseeing, hiking or hunting.

Residents are to be able to access tree forest licence lands except the Forest Ministry hasn’t issued proper firewood permits for more than six years.

Instead, tons of fuel are lit up, denying economic activities.

Of course, the fires are left unattended with little or no equipment to prevent escapes, which of course caused the wildfires burning now.

Slash burning and the carbon tax are burn jobs.
