Please tell me that the letter from Amanda Mariner in the Jan. 25 issue was a joke.
Anyone who states that a ‘green car wash’ is a car wash using ‘organically certified pure spring water’ must be joking.
For the record, a ‘green car wash’ is one that removes all contaminants from the water used in washing the car before sending it down a drain or sewer. While I am not an expert in how Californians wash their cars, using ‘organically certified pure spring water’, i.e. pure drinking water, is just plain wasteful. Using sea water as the writer suggests would probably result in rusty cars.
