Letters: Pretty sad Christmas light display

What a dismal, disappointing, display of Christmas lights in Sooke.

One can see what other communities our size, such as Chemainus and Ladysmith, have done. Our feeble attempt is shameful. Three years ago now I asked Razu Welding to put up their star once again which they did last year. I could not possibly ask them this year when Sooke council produced such a dismal effort. I am going to assume that it was the previous council that preapproved the budget for our Christmas lights and that the present council just elected in November are not responsible.

I would hope that next Christmas our new mayor and council will not follow the Scrooge- mentality of this year.

To the Razu family thank you for your star in years past and I hope that next year you will proudly hang it over Sooke once again.
