First annual Sooke Halibut Festival:
I just wanted to drop a line to thank all of the generous donors, participants and volunteers who made this event a great success.
Thanks to Ellen for her generous usage of Jock’s Dock and ramp. I would like to thank the Sooke News Mirror and Steve Arnett for their extensive coverage especially this last week with the short timeline.
Clients of the Sooke Food Bank and Vital Vittles were reading about Dan Campbell’s huge fish Wednesday and enjoying the donated portions on Thursday.
Members of the Charters River Stewardship Centre were thrilled with the results. I think I saw Elida smile a couple of times.
As Ryan Chamberlain said, “Sooke is the number one fishing destination.” What a great place to live and fish.
