Sooke River Rats take bite out of Juan de Fuca

Girls Under 10 soccer team clobber cross-town rivals 4-1

One of Sooke’s hungriest team had a nail-bitter of a soccer game and a hard fought 4-1 victory against a pesky Juan de Fuca team at home in Sooke on Saturday.

The Sooke River Rats had some great passing that allowed Ruby Price to open the scoring in the Girls Under-10 game.

Lead goalkeeper, Sophia Jonassen, smashed one into the top corner, which startled the JdF netminder.

The River Rats most improved player (and smallest player, too ) Nora Quint created a breakaway and scored her first goal of the season. Taeya Knoles confirmed the win with her goal by way of a powerhouse left kick.
