Uplands Golf Club just received an award naming it one of Canada's best clubs.
The Club Management Association of Canada (CMAC) award, which the organization delivers annually to clubs that demonstrate outstanding commitment to the management profession, also highlights clubs that promote environmental stewardship and leadership development.
"We strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional experiences for all our members and guests," said Uplands Golf Club's general manager Simon Gatrell in a news release. "This recognition underscores our commitment to excellence in club management."
Established in 1922, the 18-hole, 120-acre, par-70 course in Oak Bay won the award in CMAC's medium-sized club category, reserved for clubs with a revenue between $2-5 million per year.
"We are incredibly honoured," said Gatrell, who added the award is a result of the club's dedicated, hard-working team.
Uplands Golf Club will receive the award at CMAC's national conference in Kelowna on Sunday, Oct. 20.
"Our 2024 award recipients exemplify the highest standards of excellence in club management across Canada. Their dedication, innovation and leadership have set a benchmark for our entire community," said Suzanne Godbehere,CMAC's chief executive officer, in a news release. "We are proud to recognize their contributions and celebrate their successes at this year’s National Conference."
