A Day in the Life in Saanich

Annual photo essay highlights community

I can’t believe it is time once again for our annual Day in the Life photo essay. The past year has flown by while still managing to routinely knock us down. It has been a true test of determination and we’re starting to see the light at the end of what’s been a very long tunnel.

With that in mind, we wanted to celebrate the resiliency of all aspects of our community. Whether that’s the local businesses that have managed to struggle through the pandemic, residents who have chosen to give back, people celebrating the small things or those who are just doing what they can to keep moving forward.

We wanted to highlight as much of this great community as we could in a day, so our team of photographers had their hands full while they traversed the diverse neighbourhoods of Saanich on July 15.

We hope you enjoy the following pages as much as we did creating them. We’ll see you again next year, but in the meantime, don’t wait. Send us your highlights and your successes so we can celebrate with you.

- Katherine Engqvist, Bureau Chief
