BEEF to those who continue to support capitalism. This political way of thinking has an inevitable and historical end game. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer because the rich think they are superior and knowbest. Just look south and watch it play out.
BOUQUETS to all the volunteers and the good people who work so diligently to make this a town where people openly and unabashedly care for one other – where acts of kindness are planned as much as random.
A LOT full of rotten tomatoes to homeowners that rake the leaves into the street. Bouquets to homeowners who dispose of them properly.
BIG BOUQUETS to the Sooke Region Communities Health Network for organizing the Vintage Cafe, a meeting place for seniors! Very appreciated.
A SHOUT-OUT to all those who worked through the windy and wet night to get our power back on! We take for granted heat and power until we don’t have it. While I sat bundled up, warm and dry, these people were out managing traffic, fixing power lines and clearing vegetation. Thank you!
BEEF to the shameless Liberal government for essentially trying to bribe voters with some measly crumbs just before a federal election. There should be a very clear law and time frame against handing out money in an election year.
SO GRATEFUL to the Sooke Royal Canadian Legion branch for the incredible efforts to highlight, remember and support veterans, veteran’s services and the history of peacekeeping efforts.
BEEF to fellow e-car drivers. We are all in the same situation of having to, at times, wait for a charging spot. Two people waiting glared at me and when they felt that I’d taken enough power, they took it upon themselves in an intimidating fashion to let me know there were several in line for a charge. You never know what journey that person needs the power for and it’s not up to others to decide.
