The Capital Regional District will receive a $12,000 community wellness grant from Island Health to host the inaugural Walk and Wheel to School Week.
The region-wide campaign is Oct. 2 to 6.
Walk and Wheel to School Week encourages students and their families to choose active travel for all or part of their school journey as a way to build physical activity into their daily routine. The campaign includes events, travel tracking, resources and support for schools and parents, information on the benefits of active travel, and prizes for participation.
