Wildlife enthusiasts looking to view raptors during their fall migration in East Sooke Regional Park are in for a treat Oct. 5.

Capital Regional District guest naturalist Geoffrey Newell will host The Birds of Beechey Head. Raptors expected to be observed include Cooper’s hawk, turkey vultures, and bald eagles.

The hike up to the viewpoint requires sturdy footwear and includes a 15–minute trek up a steep and rocky trail. Meet at the kiosk in the Aylard Farm parking lot off Beecher Bay Road at 9 a.m.
