It's a 'cop-pa': Sooke RCMP invites community for coffee and a chat

The event will be a chance for residents to meet officers, ask questions and share concerns

Conversation, coffee and cops are on the menu at an upcoming Sooke community event.

In an effort to break down barriers between police officers and the community, the District of Sooke and the Sooke RCMP Detachment are hosting 'Coffee with a Cop'.

“Building strong relationships with the community we serve is vital to our work," said Staff Sgt. Greg Willcocks, Sooke RCMP detachment commander, in a news release. "‘Coffee with a Cop’ is a chance for residents to meet our officers, ask questions and share concerns in a casual and friendly setting.

“We look forward to getting to know our neighbours better and hearing directly from them about what matters most in Sooke.”

'Coffee with a Cop' will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Cafe Vosino, located at 6715 Eustace Rd.

Complimentary coffee will be provided for all attendees.
