The Jailathon was a fundraiser for Cops for Cancer.Many Sooke residents were served with warrants and arrested and remained in jail until they raised their bail money.
Jane Beddows, who headed the committee, said the event raised $10,250 to date. She said it was “unbelievable and overwhelming.” She said everyone who got arrested got into it and had a good time.
The turkey mascot (Francis Louvat) at Sea of Bloom was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 13 and thrown in jail.
