Search and rescue hosts open house

Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue is hosting an open house at its new facility at 1397 Coppermine Rd. in East Sooke on Oct. 22.

Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue is hosting an open house at its new facility at 1397 Coppermine Rd. in East Sooke on Oct. 22.

Along with static displays, there will be food, a scavenger hunt and draws.

Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue is a team of unpaid professionals who respond to land-based search and rescue emergencies within the Juan de Fuca electoral area including all inland waters.

The open house runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
