Sooke counsellor leads childhood anxiety seminar

Clinical counsellor and psycho-educational consultant Julie-Anne Richards will lead a childhood anxiety seminar in Sooke on Monday (March 5).

Childhood Stress and Anxiety Building Resilience is held at Edward Milne Community School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The presentation is tailored for parents, caregivers and educators supporting children ages five to 11, who experience stress and anxiety.

The event, sponsored by Sooke School District parents’ advisory council and the Eric Palmer Memorial Foundation, is free, but registration is required online at www.eventbrite.com. Adults are welcome.

Richards has worked extensively in the public school system and is an experienced lecturer at McGill, Carleton, and Concordia universities.
