Sooke remembers: Canadian Legion members on hand to pin first poppy on mayor

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 54 president Ted Davies, poppy campaign manager Laurie Hicks and sergeant-at-arms Joe Danyleyko gathered with Juan de Fuca electoral area director Al Wickheim and Sooke Mayor Maja Tait for the pinning of the first poppy ceremony.

The Remembrance Day services in Sooke begin at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 with a parade beginning at Evergreen Mall followed by a ceremony at the Sooke Legion Cenotaph (6727 Eustace Rd.).
