South Island Literacy task groups from Sooke, Saanich Peninsula, Victoria, and the Westshore have teamed together to create an online hub.

The website at southislandliteracy.com provides information about local literacy programs, resources and support.

“We’re really excited to create a central place for the public to find information about literacy services happening right here, right now,” said Stephanie Croft, the Sooke Region literacy outreach coordinator.

Janice Dupuis, Victoria literacy outreach coordinator, said the website will make accessing information about literacy much easier.

“We really wanted to provide everyone with easy access to our various programs and resources.”

Each South Island region has a task group committee made up of community representatives. The group is an interlinked network of informed representatives, who think about and initiate actions to support literacy and learning in their communities.
