Edward Milne Community School student and saxophonist Matthew McLean has been nominated to attend the B.C. Provincial Festival Performing Arts Festival as a woodwinds intermediate competitor and was awarded the Most Outstanding Intermediate Award at the 2018 Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival.
McLean has also been invited to perform on the Brass, Classical Guitar, Composition, and Woodwinds Honours Concert on May 3, at 7 p.m., in Philip T. Young Hall at the University of Victoria.
The BC Provincial Performing Arts Festival takes place at various venues in Victoria, from May 29 to June 2.
McLean is a student of Jack Edwards at the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
