The Friends of Shoal Harbour hosts its fifth annual Birdwalk and Tea on Sunday, March 10.

They promise “conversation and entertainment,” as part of the walk, where twitchers, chasers and birders enjoy a guided bird-watching stroll.

The group hopes it will be a “celebration” of migratory and resident birds that share Saanich Peninsula waterfronts.

The Friends of Shoal Harbour are keen to promote the enjoyment of natural spaces adjacent to where communities live, the so called “naturehoods.”

Participants are asked to muster at the parking lot at Patricia Bay Park on West Saanich Road or the bandshell at the east end of Beacon Avenue in Sidney.

The walk is expected to last from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., with tea at 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s United Church.
