If anyone is feeling stuck and wants to be inspired, there’s no better place than the upcoming Inspired Living Summit, said organizer David Knapp-Fisher.

For the first time a dozen local speakers will come together to share tales of motivation and build connections with people in their community.

“We’re not a networking group, we don’t want people passing out business cards, but we want everyone to talk about what they do for fun, what their interests are and connect on a personal level,” Knapp-Fisher said.

For three years Knapp-Fisher, a professional speaker and TedX presenter himself, has organized 84 discussions with motivating community leaders in Victoria, and he decided that an event with a larger group of people would benefit everyone.

“It’s unbelievable the stories that come out from people you think are regular,” he said. “In honesty, this is just a love letter to the community to thank everyone for what they’ve done.”

Speakers include Susan Simmons, an athlete known for swimming in the Pacific Ocean to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis, Michael Losier, author of Law of Attraction, Jacqueline McAdams, independent consultant for the United Nations in Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia, Janelle Morrison, Ironman athlete who found a second chance at life after a devastating accident, and local radio DJ and cancer advocate Robin Farrell.

Knapp-Fisher said that the summit hopes to give like-minded people the chance to connect and grow, so along with the $99 ticket are vouchers for local businesses that can help improve people’s lives. These include $30 off at the Float House, $50 to the Flight Centre, and free access to Mike Vardy’s “Productivityist” course.

Knapp-Fisher encourages everyone to attend, adding that no one should feel intimidated.

“We’re all just regular people,” he said. “Every single person does something miraculous, right here in the city of Victoria.”

The event runs 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the Coast Hotel. For more information, you can visit theinsiredlivingsummit.com
