The District of Sooke is continuing its efforts to clean up and restore Helgesen Stream and Broomhill Park.

And you can help.

On Nov. 16, the district and Juan de Fuca Community Trails Society will host a community clean up at Broomhill Park, 2280 Pyrite Drive, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Two things I love about Sooke are our connection to nature and our enthusiastic spirit of volunteerism,” Mayor Maja Tait said.

“I encourage residents to join us at ‘the fishy park’ for an hour or two to help restore this well-loved community space and to meet some new friends and neighbours.”

Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to meet at the Broomhill Park playground. Tools and gloves will be provided.
