Girls and women have a chance to get some hands-on experience working with the Royal Canadian Navy this summer.

The Achieve Anything Foundation is hosting a day sail on a navy frigate on Sept. 14.

The women and girls will rotate through various duty stations throughout the ship and have the opportunity to try on gear and experience hands on activities.

The foundation hopes to inspire more females to become interested in fields that are traditionally dominated by men.

The Achieve Anything Foundation hosts similar events throughout the year with the Canadian Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue and the Vancouver Police Department.

To register for the Sept. 14 event, please go online to www.achieveanything.ca/thisisyou.html.
