Ukrainian culture is on full display with a season finale dance showcase at Victoria’s McPherson Playhouse.
The Veselka Ukrainian Dancers invite the public to an unforgettable afternoon of vibrant dance, music, and cultural celebration on Sunday (June 15).
Founded in 1971, Veselka has been a vibrant part of Victoria’s arts and culture scene for more than five decades. The annual year-end performance features Veselka’s dynamic cast of dancers, know for their ability to stimulate nostalgia, create comedic moments, and dazzle audiences with lyrical movements and intricate, high-velocity footwork. The showcase offers a journey through different regions of Ukraine, expressed through traditional and contemporary forms of choreography, striking costumes, and deep-rooted traditions.
This year includes a special guest performance by the Kalyna Ukrainian Choir, whose rich harmonies and evocation songs provide a powerful complement to the dance experience.
