Developing an arts and culture plan

On December 20 community volunteers – representing over 30 organizations, came forward to attend the initial meeting of the Cultural Planning Project. They brought with them a wealth of ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to begin a collaborative process that would focus on improving arts and culture in the Sooke region.

Film night presents Occupation Has No Future

February 9 is the date for the next Awareness Film Night. This month will feature the film Occupation Has No Future and speaker Kevin Neish, a Victoria man who was on board the Gaza aid boat that was ambushed by Israeli commandos last May resulting in nine civilian deaths.

Well ladies and gentlemen, it hardly seems possible that January is almost at a close. Our first month has given us rain, rain and more rain. My wonder dog Wylie just loved the gift of snow. She thought it had snowed just for her. Romping, snuffling and playing were the order of the day.
