Back-to-back car shows draw enthusiasts to 2 Oak Bay venues

Oak Bay car show draws a crowd to The Avenue

Summer is the season of car shows, and Oak Bay is no different with vehicles filling The Avenue on Saturday (July 20) and Windsor Park on Sunday.

About 300 vehicles, from fully restored to works-in-progress, were on display, each with its own story, Saturday as part of the Oak Bay Car Collector Festival. This year’s show was dedicated to the event’s founder Ken Agate who died in September 2023 after a battle with cancer.

Several sponsors issued awards in the annual event. The two main awards were the Mayor’s Award won by Rob Maitland and his 1961 AC Ace and Chris Yarrow and his 1930 Packard 740.

Sunday, Jaguars in the Park added a little glitter to the seaside town.
