The Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce hosted an unforgettable Business Excellence Awards event on Saturday, Nov. 16 that celebrated local business achievements with lively entertainment and community spirit, said Deb Schenk, executive director of the Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce.
"Entertainers Henrietta Dubét and Honey Dewme dazzled the audience with a fantastic drag performance, blending humor and flair, while comedian Katie-Ellen Humphries kept the crowd laughing with her sharp wit and engaging style," said Schenk. "The laughter, applause, and smiles were contagious, making it an event that truly captured the spirit of Sooke."
Fifteen local businesses were honoured with awards throughout the night, each highlighting the hard work and dedication that drives our community forward. Special congratulations go to Christine B Acupuncture, who received two awards, the New Business of the Year award, sponsored by Sooke Oceanside Brewery, and Health and Wellness sponsored by Ayre Manor.
The prestigious Business of the Year title was awarded to FarOut Wilderness, with sponsorship from Keycorp Consulting & Seacliff Properties, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the local economy. The ever-popular People's Choice award, which always generates excitement, went to West Coast Grill, proudly sponsored by Home Hardware.
