Crews working on power poles in downtown Victoria mean no power for nearly 500 homes and businesses on Oct. 8.

A planned hydro outage has nearly 500 businesses and homes in downtown Victoria in the dark Tuesday (Oct. 8).

A trio of work sites have power down in three overlapping areas of Victoria between Yates and Courtney streets and from Blanshard Street to Quadra Street.

The outage is scheduled to 5 p.m. according to BC Hydro.

No traffic lights are impacted.
