Sooke’s financial health remains stable as the district’s third-quarter financial report shows revenues and expenditures are on track to meet 2024 targets.

The corporate report, presented to council on Nov. 18 by Ben Currie, deputy director of financial services, highlights steady progress across key financial and operational areas.

Operating revenues have reached 99 per cent of the annual budget, with expenditures at 74 per cent as of Sept. 30, 2024.

This performance is consistent with seasonal patterns and slightly better than 2023’s third-quarter figures of 97 per cent for revenues and 71 per cent for expenditures. Property taxes and sewer-related fees collected earlier in the year account for the strong revenue figures.
